Bounty Land files included in this combo deal were available to veterans (and their heirs) that served in the War of 1812, Indian Wars, and the Mexican American War. Documents may include:
-
place of birth
-
citizenship
-
military service
-
court information
-
parents, siblings, and/or heir information
-
and so much more!
These government documents may generate more questions about your ancestor than answer the questions you already had. Many of the records, depending on the time period and type of land record, will also have court documents that should be hunted down in the future. For more information regarding Bounty Land Files, please review section B of LAND ENTRY PAPERS: FEDERAL LAND RECORDS AT THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES
NARA’s usual retrieval fee for both files is $80! Save OVER 65% off with our low retrieval fee of $27!
